I told you I got apathetic towards the end of the summer. I had a choice between dwelling on a solution or dwelling on improvement, and I chose improvement.
Apathy looked like crying out to God every night begging and pleading to hear his voice, like a Davidic Psalm. Thoughts would enter into my head and as I wrestled with them, I would cry and pray as I fell asleep, every night, for the last few weeks of summer. It wasn’t an apathy away from God, it was a plead for apathy to leave me where I couldn’t control.
But I chose to say I was apathetic. And I don’t regret it. Even though I’d love to correct myself now, I used that to work towards intentionality in my spiritual life.
That intentionality continues to help me improve. Maybe, all in all, this works for good in me just like all other things. I now have both this website and notebook to keep me accountable for these things.
